A funny dream
I discovered recently (via facebook) that I am not the only teacher who has back-to-school dreams (really nightmares) before school starts. I was glad to know that it isn't just me. I had my first dream the other night. I was teaching my Geometry Pre-AP freshmen and we were looking at pictures and naming what geometric figures we could see in them. One student got up, cut apart the picture we were looking at, put 2 pieces together, put a big circle around it and said, "Here is a derivative!" This is something that is learned in Calculus and since I don't teach Calculus and haven't done it since college, that would be scary. I woke up right after the student said this. Just a few pre-ap jitters - no big deal. Worse things could happen!
